End of course wrap-up thoughts

Hi all,

Congratulations on completing our MOOC on blended learning! Thank you once again for watching our videos and engaging in lively, thoughtful, and—we hope—ongoing conversations about high-quality blended learning. From unpacking what it means to deliver personalized, mastery-based learning that students truly own to questioning the assumptions that prevent us from innovating in schools, you all have accomplished an impressive amount of work in these six weeks. We hope the final assignment helps solidify your understanding of how to create these student-centered environments—both the opportunities as well as the very real challenges. Remember, these final assignments are due by the end of today (11/25).

One of the most rewarding pieces of this experience for us was watching a motivated community of innovators develop and implement their own visions. Although our Coursera page will close eventually (but will be open for at least the next few weeks), we hope you all stay connected to the blended-learning world. You can find the latest on blended learning through http://www.blendedlearningnow.com or keep track of blended learning schools in the Blended Learning Universe at www.christenseninstitute.org/blended-learning-universe. We’ll also be searching for new ways to continue to connect, bolster, and learn from inspiring innovators.

In creating a MOOC for the first time, we have taken away more than a few lessons ourselves. We’ve gotten to know how you’re approaching blended learning in your context and the challenges you’ve already faced. We’ve also run into our own bumps along the way. To help us in our learning journey and to strengthen our work in helping foster high-quality blended learning, we would greatly appreciate feedback through our end of course survey.

Thank you again, and our best wishes in your ongoing journey to create opportunities for students worldwide to have meaningful, student-centered educational experiences that allow them to discover their passions and pursue their dreams.

Best,
Brian, Michael and Rob
